Computer Vision Researcher

I am now a Senior Research Scientist at NAVER LABS Europe (NLE). Before that, I was a Research Scientist with the (ex-LEAR) THOTH team at Inria, where I worked with Dr Cordelia Schmid. Between July 2013 and June 2015, I visited the University of California, Irvine (UCI) to collaborate with Prof Deva Ramanan. I received the Ph.D degree from the University of Zaragoza in 2012, advised by Prof Carlos Orrite. Before that, I was a Visiting Student (2007-2008) and a Research Fellow (2009-2010) with Prof Philip H. S. Torr in Oxford.

My research interests include computer vision and machine learning/deep learning, with a special focus on sensing and understanding people from visual data. This includes human detection and tracking, 2D/3D pose estimation, 3D shape reconstruction, object manipulation and activity recognition in videos and images. In the past I have worked on several other computer vision problems, including egocentric computer vision, video-surveillance, biometrics and OCR.

More details can also be found in my CV or on my NLE webpage.
